The vineyard 2:9
Meet
your new
neighbor
Brf Vingården 2:9 Vineyard 2:9 is surrounded by vines and apple trees. You can observe and appreciate our dream to produce wine and other products here, without the hard work that comes with managing such an enterprise.
That responsibility rests on Anders Åkesson, who lives just over the hill from you. A known pioneer in Swedish wine production, he also operated Domaine Rabiega in southern France before returning home to join the swedish wine frontier with 19000 vines planted in Kivik so far. Kivik is known for its apple production and we also produce a dry apple cider here that we call Farfar (Grandfather in Swedish). You can find it in the Swedish alchohol shop, Systembolaget.
Since the arrival of Solaris and other, more resilient varieties of grape that can handle our colder climate, Sweden is rapidly becoming a more suitable place to produce wine. Our viticulturists work hard to maintain a high quality vineyard. Harvest is of course the busiest time of the year, but there is always something to do here. Cropping, weeding, irrigation and so on.
There is never a dull moment here and we invite you to come and share in our adventure, learn a thing or two about our process and to enjoy our finished products when the time comes.
